Well the season is upon us soon. The league will start in early October, most likely the 7th of October. The league is going to be comprised of 8 three-man teams. The league will play every other Tuesday, with each team playing 14 matches. The league will be handicapped using the system we have incorporated for our weekly draws. During the off weeks we will have a draw at Fanatics. We are currently in discussions with Fanatics about getting two new tables so that the entire league can be played at one location.

Teams will be selected by the eight captains (top league players) in a draft. The format for matches will be posted later, but has been worked out and will make the matches both fun and competitive. Tornado tables will continue to be the table of choice for the Milwaukee area.

League dues will be $50. (That means you have 6 weeks to save $50, or $8.34 / week) Dues is due the 1st week of leagues or before, no exceptions. How dues will be spent.

Dues total $1200 (based on 24 players)

$200 table upkeep
$50 Website
$100 start-up $$
$160 Trophies & Hats
$300 1st place team
$240 2nd place team
$150 3rd place team

Any unspent money from the table upkeep, website and trophy/hat accounts will be redistributed to league players at the end of the year party.

The following is a list of players who have said they will be playing this year. If you are on this list and are not going to be playing please let me know so that I can open up the field for others to play. Presently 20 of the 24 slots are filled for league. If you are not on the list and would like to play please call me or post with your information on how to reach you.

Sean Harkins, Tim Foreen, John Gibbons, Chris Townsend, Greg Rushing,
Jeff Kimmerling, Eric Weishaar, Eric H, Lance, Jason Vollmer, Ryan Plato,
Joey Geiger, Justy, Bob Homa, Dan Sutton, Kevin Crozier, Scott Arnsdorf
Lindsay, Craig Lindow, Gonzo Faust.

this sounds like an excellent set up! Kudos to the old man. I'll be interested to see the events, and I'm hoping the 5-bar wars gets eliminated. :)

I'm glad we finally have a payout set in stone, and I think it's critical that people who don't pay, don't play.

also, if we can get the events hammered out, then perhaps we can have bryan or bret code it up for us prior to league start so we don't have to worry about turning in sheets.

If you guys get a consistent format for your league we could set some stuff up for ya. You guys change your mind like women change underware...except the women oldman gets with.

Oldman, I looked at your excel sheet. I'll call you in the next couple days to talk about it. I'm busy the next few nights

What was wrong with the A / B format from last year? I thought that was the best year (at least of the 3 or 4 yrs I've played). Everyone we played in the B league seemed to have a good time. Why keep changing it every year?

To get the B league players more chances to play, ask questions, and generally get better playing against the A league players.

Last year at this time you opted to play in the B league and you had a 4 handicap. I have a 1 (or maybe 2) handicap and now I don't get a choice.

I'm not in this to be a tourny player. Its just for fun. And last year when we played John / Chris, Tim / Bob and Brian / Craig no one bitched or nitpitcked the rules or played to win at all costs including bad sportsmanship. It was simply a good time playing foos.

Do the rest of the former B leaguers want this new format?

I do! There is a new handicap system that we've been using with the draws over the summer and it really kicks ass. It is better than the handicap system we used in previous B league years. I have got 1st, 2nd and 3rd a few times over the summer in the draws and I still suck just like always :) Too bad 3rd doesn't pay out. I think this year will be a lot of fun and I'm excited for it to start. You should come out to the draw tonight and check out the new handicap system and hang out with the group. It is always a good time.

The new handicap system makes everyone have to play 100% (including pros). Handicap system for those not familiar with it can be seen here:

Did we ever figure out what teams, start date, format, etc. were?
